Roberto Burchielli and Mauro Parissone are the authors of the movie-documentary Stato di Paura - Scontro tra civiltà. The movie, which won the critics prize Ilaria Alpi 2007, went on the air on La7 and soon on Al Jazeera. Filmed in live broadcast, State of fear, tells the everyday life made of violence, pedlary, prostitution and nightly rondes of the inhabitants of the quarter of Padua called via Anelli and become famous in the news stories after the decision of the mayor of the city to build a wall which could separate the houses inhabited by the migrants from the rest of the city. The movie gives a slavish account of life just like it is lived behind the two sides of the wall. The migrants with their baggage of broken dreams and of marginal lives often made of the impossibility to obtain the permit of stay and of economies linked to the distribution of drug, and on the other side of the wall, natives shocked by a change of the quarter unacceptable and determined to 'defend our fathers' country". The movie, involving and moving, represents without judgments nor line-ups a meaningful cross section of the emerging conflicts made of incommunicability and opposed social representations but asymmetric. |
